A Fulfilling Sunday

Updated: Oct 20, 2020

Every once in awhile a day comes along when you really feel like you've helped someone or made a difference in someone's life. I feel that way on many Saturday mornings during Stamp Together Saturday on Facebook Live, actually. There have been many comments about how people look forward to getting together on Saturday mornings to stamp. It makes people feel good to create a card in just a few minutes that they can send to someone, to in turn make their day.

I felt like today was also one of those days where at the end of it, I can say, "I helped someone today!" During the last couple of weeks, I've been preparing projects using the Plaid Tidings Suite on pages 56-58 of the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, to share with other demonstrators today. I love this suite, especially now that I've been using it so much in the last couple of weeks!

You see, I'm a part of a group of Stampin' Up!® leaders who plan a training for our teams every year. We hope that during the event, we can share useful projects, business tips, and inspire them to try something new. This year we couldn't meet in person, but we were able to put on an amazing event via Facebook. I had the opportunity to share my projects through a video presentation, while also sharing how I've made virtual classes a part of what I've been doing since April of this year. The comments I have received in reaction to the video, my projects, and class ideas, have been so fun to read! Many demonstrators loved the projects I made, while others are inspired to try simple online classes, as well. That makes me so happy! It feels good to know that all my hard work to prepare was appreciated and has sparked some creativity from others, too! It reminds me of what Stampin' Up!'s Statement of the Heart says:

So here I am now, ready to share some of these fun projects with you, too, hoping to inspire your creativity to try a new color combination, technique, project, or fun fold. I'm starting with some simple ideas and will share more in picture and video how-tos in upcoming weeks!

On this card I colored the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon using the Dark Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends. Just the Seaside Spray piece opens on this card, so you could consider it a fun-fold. This piece measures 2 3/4" x 8", and is then folded in half.

On this one, the Plaid Tidings DSP has a window cut out of it using the Celebration Labels Dies from the suite, and then it is popped up using plenty of Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Banners Pick a Punch made making these banners a snap! The two outside banners were cut 3/4" wide while the middle one is 1".

It was super fun to use a variety of 1/2" strips on this card! For the vertical pieces, I used adhesive just across the top of the strip and adhered them where I wanted them. Because they just had adhesive on that top part, I could then weave the horizontal strips through the vertical ones. I adhered the ends of those horizontal strips then came back and put glue on the bottom edges of the vertical strips. I finished this card off with "Merry Christmas" from the Celebration Tidings stamp set and colored a few pearls with Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to bring it all together.

For a full list of supplies I used on these projects, see below. Stay tuned for more amazing projects using the Plaid Tidings Suite!
