A Little Inspiration with Color

What do you use to get inspirations on your next project? Does it all just come from your brain? My guess is that not everyone's brains work that way, so inspiration from somewhere is needed. Popular spots are Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, of course. A lot of times if I need inspiration, it's on a card layout or color combination that gets the blood flowing to the creative side of my brain. OR I enjoy having someone give me a card layout or color combination as a challenge. It's fun for me to come up with a project when someone gives me a starting place.

Here is a color combination I issued to my customers this past week - perfect for the Fourth of July week! Anyone was invited to share a product using these colors and no others (except white or vanilla) and only Stampin' Up!® products, either retired or current. All participants' names were put into a hat, and a name was drawn at random to win a prize - this time, a sampler of 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. Watch my Facebook page for more opportunities to paper craft and win!

As I said, I love a good card layout or color combination challenge, so I had to take this on myself. This is my super simple result using the Hats Off Bundle.

Pool Party cardstock:

-4 1/4" x 11"

-Scraps for the hat and the label on the hat

Real Red cardstock:

-3 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Basic White cardstock:

-3" x 4"

Night of Navy cardstock:

-3 1/8" x 4 1/8"

This is the first time I've used the Hats Off bundle, and I have already misplaced the dies. Good grief. I get good at improvising, I guess. I just fussy cut the hat and label with my Paper Snips instead of using the dies to the job more quickly and accurately. Such is life.

For a complete list of supplies I used on this card and links to them in my online store, see below.

Stamping blessings!

Amy
