Alternate Paper Pumpkin Projects: July & August 2024

Oh, the fun I've had with Paper Pumpkin the last couple of months!

July's Painted Petals kit is gorgeous, and its focal images with an open design just called to me...for what, I wasn't quite sure yet, but I knew it was going to be amazing. 🤣 I must have had a dream about this one night and decided those focal images would make a great window sheet card. So I did it, and I love it!

I started with a piece of cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 7", and it was scored at 5 1/2". This created a flap under which I could adhere a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Window Sheet and a gorgeous 4" x 5 1/4" piece I cut from one of the envelopes in the kit. Note that I also used a piece of the backside of the envelope to decorate the top flap.

Remember, both of those 4" x 5 1/4" pieces are attached to the underside of the front flap. I then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the floral frame focal image to the window sheet, followed by the sentiment.

I adhered a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White to the inside of the card, too, so that I'd have a spot to write my message. Don't forget some linen thread to finish it off!

Although the July alternate really turns my crank, this August alternate takes the cake! (Pun INtended!) I am in L❤️VE with this pull tab extension card!

The front of the card looks perfectly normal, right? Yep, until this...

From the Time for Cake Paper Pumpkin kit, I used the three balloon die cuts (complete with metallic rose gold accents. Beautiful!), three candles (which I stamped using one of the candle dies from the stamp set), a banner on which I stamped the "Happy Birthday," the card base from one of the cards in the kit, and the rose gold metallic twine. We must not forget the stamps and stamp set with the little Night of Navy Stampin' Spot.

For this card I supplemented the kit with the following:

  • Moody Mauve ink pad for a couple of the stamped balloons

  • a piece of 3 1/2" x 11" Basic White cardstock, scored at 1/2", 1 1/2", 3 1/2", and 6 3/4"

  • Moody Mauve cardstock layer, measuring 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"

So what do you think? On the left are the cards as intended. On the right my pull tab extension card. Pretty all the way around!
