Bendy Window Card

I LOVE FUN FOLD CARDS!!!!

You're probably not surprised to see me write that, but it's what drives me to make one of those fun fold cards each month for the current Paper Pumpkin kit. This September Autumn Abundance kit is so beautiful, and it must be said, I'm completed addicted to Fall cards. I can't help myself. The Fall products Stampin' Up!® is carrying this year are the best ever, and combining the new Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper with the Autumn Abundance Paper Pumpkin Kit was a natural choice for me. The combination on this Bendy Window card is fantastic.

I think the name of the card, which I got from France Martin was named because she used a window sheet in the design, but I decided to keep the name based on the opening in the front of the card. The sentiment seems to float in that window, too. So how does this work? There is a curved piece of Designer Series Paper on the front and the back of this card (it's a DOUBLE bendy!), but it also has a bendy inside the circular opening to pop the sentiment out like it is. Let's see the bird's eye view of the card...

The best of this card is that it lays flat to get it into an envelope. Fantastic! But wait. How does Paper Pumpkin come in here? These are the supplies I used from the Paper Pumpkin kit to help create the card.

I started with 4 quarter sheets of Cajun Craze cardstock, each measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", then scored at 2 1/8". I cut the tree ring card base from the kit (shown in the photo above) into four pieces 2" x 5 3/8" to do some layering on the card, then supplemented that with four more pieces 2" x 5 3/8", this time cut from the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper. I layered the tree ring card base pieces on the front and back of the card and the Splendid Autumn DSP on the sides, as shown below.

The front of the card showcases just a couple of pieces from the Paper Pumpkin Kit, but the back! The back is really fun!

I did end up making three versions of this card. As stated already, on the one above, I used the tree ring card base on front and back and the DSP on the sides. On this card I used two tree ring card bases so I could decorate the sides with that, as well as the front and back.

On yet another I didn't use the tree ring card base on the card at all. Instead I used the Splendid Autumn DSP on all sides.

Which of the three do you like best? Perhaps you're like me, and you like them all! To simplify things a little bit, here are the measurements for this card.

Cajun Craze cardstock:

-Four pieces 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", scored in half at 2 1/8"

-Stripey circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies

Pecan Pie cardstock:

-2 3/8" Circle

Tree Ring card base and/or Splendid Autumn DSP or any combination of the two, for the sides:

-Eight pieces 2" x 5 3/8"

Splendid Autumn DSP (for front and back):

-Two pieces 4 1/2" x 5", scored 1/2" from each side

Basic White cardstock:

-Scrap for leaf (on the back)

Lots of pieces. Do you know where they all go and how they're put together? Then you're awesome. For those of us who need a little video tutorial to help us figure it out, you can watch me make this card here:

Thanks for watching, and happy bending. 😉
