Choose What I Use

"Choose What I Use" is a phrase I use on Facebook when I'm asking for help in choosing what products I use to create something live on Facebook. This past Tuesday, I asked my viewers to Choose What I Use for my What's Up! Stampers projects on Wednesday. Here are the items for which people voted. The first was to choose the stamp set I was going to use. I was going with the Christmas in July theme.

I then asked viewers to choose what color combination they'd like to see my use for my Christmas card:

Which stamp set and color combo would you have voted for? Although the vote was tight, here's what the viewers chose:

So on Tuesday night I set to work preparing a project that was going to beautiful and Christmasy...which would be a little bit of a bigger challenge because of the color combo that was chosen. But I think we did it!

What a beautiful card! We started with a Thick Basic White card base measuring 4 1/4" x 11", then folded in half to create our card base.I then took a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, spritzed it with water, then stamped the splotchy image from the Perched on a Tree stamp set in Highland Heather and Bubble Bath inks. This created the gorgeous background.

After drying it quickly with my Heat Tool, I adhered that to the card base, followed by the beautiful printed vellum with white dots, also cut 3 3/4" x 5". This vellum comes from the Vellum Basics Specialty Designer Series Paper found in the Annual Catalog.

Next I cut a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White cardstock using the gorgeous Aspen trees die from the die set of the same name. Following that with another 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock in which I cut a hole in the middle using the Deckled Rectangles Dies.

I stamped and colored the bird and tree limb using Staz On ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper again and ink from ink pads applied with our Water Painters. I finished the card with the crowd favorite Basic White Deckled Rectangle Die for the sentiment and some absolutely gorgeous Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems.

For a complete list of items I used to create the card, along with links to my online store, scroll to the bottom of this blog post. You can watch as I put this card together by heading here.

Maybe in the future when I play "Choose What I Use," you can play along! Thanks for checking it out, and happy Christmas in July!

Amy
