Wednesday's What's Up! Stampers featured a card that combines a card and a gift in one! What a genius idea to make a card into a tealight holder, huh? When I ended the Facebook Live on Wednesday, I had the card partially completed.
To create the card, I started with two Blackberry Bliss card bases measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" each and scored at 4 1/4". I added a layer of Bubble Bath Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper measuring 5 1/4" x 4" to one of the card bases and ran both through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the second largest die in the Deckled Rectangles Dies. This was done to ensure there is open space through all the layers to the vellum.
I then adhered one side of each of the card bases together to form a tri-fold card.
The next layer over the opening of the card base is a 5 1/8" x 4 5/8" piece of Petal Pink cardstock. I punched a 2 3/8" circle in it, then ran it through the Machine using the Quatrefoil Tile embossing folder.
Time to break out the amazing online exclusive stamp set called So Very Merry! Christmas in July just got classy with this stamp set. I've always been enamored with stained glass, so I just love this stamp set and its possibilities.
After embossing the angel image from the So Very Merry stamp set in black on a 4" x 4" square of vellum, I colored the image using Stampin' Blends in different purples and yellows.
Adhering the vellum through the 2 3/8" circular layer is perfection.
The back of this didn't look so pretty.
But I prettied it up with another piece of Petal Pink cardstock.
Opening the card with the angel at the top, I adhered a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White cardstock to the bottom section. Then I adhered a row of pearls across the white cardstock to serve as an easel for the angel section of the card.
After What's Up! Stampers finished, I completed the front of the card and even added a piece of Designer Series Paper to the section behind the Basic White panel.
I didn't have a battery operated tealight to add behind the angel panel, but I did have a votive instead. So pretty!
You can watch me make this card by heading over to my Facebook page, and guess what! You don't even have to be a subscriber to watch! You can see all the supplies I used to create this cool card, along with links to my online store, at the bottom of this post.
Happy stamping!
Amy
