Embossing in ANY Color Ink!

One of the amazing things about Stampin' Up!® is our color coordination. Paper color that coordinates with ink color that coordinates with...well, you get the picture. There are 50 colors in our offering in any given Annual Catalog, but can you imagine having 50 different colored embossing powders? That would simply be impossible and impractical! Let me show you two ways you can emboss in all 50 colors without having 50 different powders. A Versamark ink pad is definitely the secret to this technique. I recently made this card to show both ways.

It may be difficult to tell, but not only is the multi-colored tree image embossed with clear embossing powder, but so are the sentiments.

The first way to emboss with any Stampin' Up! ink color pretty simple. I used this method on the outside and inside sentiments.

  1. Choose your stamp

  2. Ink it in Versamark ink

  3. Ink it in your desired color of ink

  4. Stamp on paper

  5. Sprinkle with CLEAR embossing powder

  6. Heat

This allows for the sticky Versamark ink pad to be a part of the process without complicating matters. The down side to doing it this way is that you will get Versamark ink on your ink pad. If that bothers you, then method two, which I used on the tree, is for you.

  1. Use the Stamparatus to stamp your image. In this case, I used Pear Pizzazz to ink the tree, then added bits of Garden Green and Evening Evergreen using Sponge Daubers.

  2. Clean off the stamp, then, keeping the paper and stamp in the same exact place, ink the stamp in Versamark ink and use the Stamparatus to stamp the image right over the top of the first stamped image.

  3. Sprinkle with CLEAR embossing powder

  4. Heat

I love the look of several greens on the tree, don't you? And with the clear embossing, it looks quite classy.

If you're not sure how to use the Stamparatus or would just like to see how this card was made from start to finish, watch this:
