New Catalog, New Ideas!

With every new catalog and with all the new products, comes the opportunity to refresh and re-energize and get those creative juices flowing. I am loving the brand new July-December Mini Catalog because it is jam packed full of coordinating products, which makes creating and creativity a breeze!

One of the first cards I made using the new stamp set Christmas Season, isn't a Christmas card at all! In fact, it's a thank you card that can definitely be used at any time of year.

The warmth of this card definitely comes from the color combination of Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, and Crumb Cake, but its charm comes from the criss cross in the middle that creates the pocket with what could be a bookmark stuck inside.

Soft Succulent cardstock:

-5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Evening Evergreen cardstock:

-4" x 5 1/4"

2 3/4" x 4"

Crumb Cake cardstock:

-3 3/4" x 5"

Basic White cardstock:

-4" x 5 1/4" (inside)

-2 1/2" x 3 3/4"

The criss cross on the card is made from a triangles of Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Early Espresso cardstock embossed with the new Timber 3D Embossing Folder. These triangles are made starting with pieces that are cut 3" x 3 3/4". The DSP is cut on the diagonal from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. The Early Espresso cardstock is cut from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. When cut in half, only one of these pieces of each is needed for the card (so why not make two!). The Early Espresso triangle should then be run through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the Timber 3D embossing folder for a little added texture.

Adhere the Espresso piece first, making sure to only put adhesive on the edges of the cardstock that come together to make the 90 degree angle, so that you don't seal your pocket shut. The DSP triangle gets layered over the Espresso piece the same way.
