Technique Spotlight: Baby Wipe Stamping

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Fall leaves and how much I love stamping for Fall? (If you didn't know, see some recent posts. 😉) The technique I'd like to spotlight today is the Baby Wipe Stamping technique, and it's PERFECT for stamping Fall leaves. P-E-R-F-E-C-T.

Didn't it turn out great? Let's discuss some of its elements. First, the layout. I've discussed this before, but sometimes I just need a little layout help. In this case, I found this layout and knew it would be perfect for this card.

You know what else is perfect for this card? The Designer Series Paper! This is Sweet Days of Autumn, and it's included in our Scrapbooking Brochure. It's got the perfect colors and patterns for Fall, so it helped make the card perfect.

The spotlight of the whole thing in my humble opinion is the leaves. I used the Caring Leaves stamp set from the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog.

And to create the leaves I used the Baby Wipe technique is a simple way to add multiple colors to a stamp. To do this technique, you just need a baby wipe and a few Stampin' Ink Refills in the appropriate colors. I used Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry.

Step 1: Fold the baby wipe in half then in half again, and place it in a plastic container lid. I used one of our stamp cases in which I store my Stampin' Shammy.

Step 2: Drop ink Cherry Cobbler ink refill in several places on the baby wipe.

Step 3: Follow the same procedure for Cajun Craze ink.

Step 4: Fill in any empty spots on the baby wipe with Crushed Curry ink refill drops.

Step 5: Ink the stamp by tapping it up and down in the same place on the homemade ink pad, then stamp it on a piece of light-colored cardstock. I used Very Vanilla.

The results are amazing!

After adding the veins of the leaves in Early Espresso ink, I fussy cut the leaves out to add them to the card. They make the perfect focal image.

You can watch me create the card here, and you can find the supplies I used, along with links to the products in my online store, below.

Happy stamping!

Amy
