Just checking in quickly to share my latest Technique Spotlight project and the video tutorial for it. First, I have a question for you...
If you answered yes, then chances are you have two embossing folders the would look cool together. Like on the same piece of cardstock. Using two embossing folders - one at a time - can create a really unique look with very little effort.
Step one: Emboss a piece of cardstock with an embossing folder that has an overall background.
Step two: Emboss that same piece of cardstock with an embossing folder that has a larger, singular image.
I started with the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders. I embossed a piece of Polished Pink cardstock with the dots folder, then followed it up with the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder. The second folder you use is definitely the one that will pop the most. Make sure to use the singular, more detailed image folder for the second folder.
The results were fantastic:
Take a closer look at how the two folders coincide side-by-side:
I used a Blending Brush to apply some Polished Pink ink over the raised edges of the flowers, then followed it up with a Small Blending Brush and just a wee bit of white ink to help those flowers pop off the page even more.
You can watch as make the card here:

I love all of your ideas! I would have never thought of using two embossing folders together on a card; pretty cool. I’m a hobby demo, but I still keep learning so much every day from all you SU Demonstrator’s! Thanks for sharing your talents with everyone! I’ll have to start a blog or site some day just to share my knowledge; am to old for the selling part and just enjoying art!❤️❤️❤️
