The 12 Projects of Christmas 2021: Project #2

When our July-December Mini Catalog was released, there was much discussion about the kits shown on pages 6 and 7. Shown on these two pages are projects made with two adorable Christmas-themed kits, one kit for whimsical cards and the other for bright and cheery tags. Those kits are part of our Kits Collection. The Kits Collection on our website is explained like this: "Experience how fun and easy creativity can be! Our kits come with everything you need to get started including artistically designed projects, step-by-step instructions, precut pieces, and more. Choose the kit that’s right for you from an assortment of options designed for a variety of occasions and styles. New kits added regularly."

These Christmas kits had a staggered release, and it wasn't long ago that the Love, Santa Tag Kit made its debut. The pre-cut tags are simple to put together, take very little time, and the kit comes with everything you need to complete the tags. It's an All-Inclusive kit, which means it even includes a stamp set and a mini Night of Navy ink pad, called a Stampin' Spot.

Another kit released at the same time is the Love, Santa Project Collection. This collection includes the Love, Santa Tag Kit, along with the Love, Santa Treat Bags. Combining the two kits gives you an opportunity to give 12 of the most adorable treats to your loved ones that you ever did see.

If you know me and kits, you know that it's very difficult for me to open up a kit box and not see what else I can make with the supplies in the box. I like to think outside the box...pun totally intended. :) And when I think outside the box, I can't help but pull out my little bag of fun fold tricks. So I grabbed a tree tag from the kit, and away I went! My fun double easel card was born!

To create this sweet fun fold card, I obviously needed some supplies not in the original Love, Santa Tag Kit. The kit includes a Night of Navy Stampin' Spot, but to achieve the look I was going for, other colors of ink was needed, as well. These colors are perfect when combined with the fun stamp set in the kit. The paper I used is as follows...

Night of Navy cardstock:

-4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"

Just Jade cardstock:

-4" x 9 1/4", scored and folded at 2" and 4"

Basic White cardstock:

-4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

-scraps for presents, fussy cut with a Paper Snips

Neutrals Designers Series Paper:

-Night of Navy, 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

-Smoky Slate, 1 7/8" x 3 7/8"

The pieces that make up the "JOY" label and the tree come from the kit.
