I've had this project idea in mind since long before it was time to record and share The 12 Projects of Christmas 2022. This card definitely evolved as I contemplated the amazing Aspen Trees Dies found in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.
The original idea for the birdhouse card that started on Pinterest but evolved in my brain was now ramped up a notch or two.
So how did I make that birdhouse shape? Nothing to it! I started with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock 4 1/4" x 11", scored in half at 5 1/2". Then I scored two more lines in an "x," 1 1/2" on either side of the center score line.
I added an Early Espresso layer behind the aspen trees to make those trees pop, then a label from the Labels Aglow Dies for the sentiment and the pretty bird from the Perched in a Tree stamp set all dolled up in red. Cherry Cobbler and Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends, that is.
I'm thinking you have some questions. How did I fold that card to get the house shape? How did I get the Early Espresso layer to fit as a house-shaped layer? How did I color the bird using such vastly different reds?
