The 12 Projects of Christmas 2024: Project #10

First of all, it must be said that this project doesn't HAVE to be a gift card holder.

But since it uses the amazing Scalloped GIFT CARD boxes, I guess the gig is up. As previously stated, these gift card boxes are truly amazing. They can be found in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. They can be stamped or decorated with paper...you can let your creativity run wild! And with so many papers and stamp sets by Stampin' Up!® to choose from, the possibilities are endless.

Check out the samples from the Stampin' Up! website. So sweet! They're made using last year's Mini Catalog products, but still filled with some fun ideas.

Last week during What's Up! Stampers on Facebook, I made a project using the One of a Kind Bundle.

It's a great snowflake bundle with an even better price-point. The stamp set and dies bundled together are under $40!

Anyway...I used this bundle during What's Up! last week and did a watercolor wash over clear embossed snowflakes. Adding die cut snowflakes in silver foil and Graceful Greenery Vellum really brings it all together.

You can watch here as I make the card.

This card was the inspiration for the box I made for The 12 Projects of Christmas.

For this project, I clear embossed the snowflakes right onto the box, and instead of using water brushes to blend Pool Party, Balmy Blue, and Highland Heather ink, I used Blending Brushes to blend Pool Party, Balmy Blue, and Fresh Freesia ink. The detail in the snowflakes just pops right off the box when ink is added.

Once the ink was on the box, I spritzed it with water from my Spritzer. This put some water drops on the box, and I love the look. I also couldn't resist but to spatter some Wink of Stella on the box, but it's not as noticeable that I had hoped, especially on camera.

After I put the box together - a great design with no adhesive, by the way, I tested it out with some candies (I wish I had the ones with the blue wrappers!). Six of those chocolates will fit, but who's counting. 😉

Ultimately, however, the gift card idea won out. Inevitable? Perhaps. 🤣

Notice the tag. How cute is that! It's made using a piece of 2" x 3 1/2" Fresh Freesia cardstock with the ends cut using the Sparkling Snowflake Tag Topper Punch. Simple but effective, don't you think? And the "To: From:" stamp comes from the One of a Kind stamp set, as well, stamped tone-on-tone with Fresh Freesia ink.

What a cool project made with the coolest One of.a Kind Bundle! You can watch the background take shape by watching below:

Happy Christmas!

Amy
