Fun fold cards are my thing, so inevitably I'd have some fun ones for you during The 12 Projects of Christmas. The one I'm sharing today is sweet and the fun fold part is easy! I saw the fold from demonstrator Jill Olsen and knew it was going to be perfect for the Reindeer Days Suite Collection I wanted to use for this project.
I started with a 11" x 4 1/4" card base. Scored in half at 5 1/2".
With the card open, I cut into the left edge at 2 1/8" to the score line.
Then I cut the top section off by cutting on the score line.
The top portion I cut off, which measured 5 1/2" x 2 1/8," could then be used to create another panel. I scored it at 4 1/4", then folded back the flap and attached it to the top of the card with the score line along the top edge.
To decorate the amazing card base, I used two pieces of 5 1/4" x 2 1/8" Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper, and the super cool circular pine frame die. I cut the frame from Garden Green cardstock measuring 3 3/4" x 3 1/2", then backed with a piece of Basic White cut just a pinch smaller, stamped with the deer, then colored with Stampin' Blends (see colors in the supply list at the bottom of this blog post). I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink on a piece of 3 1/2" x 1/2" Basic White cardstock, and I banner cut the right end (truth be told, I banner cut both ends, then realized I'd cover up the left end with the amazing holly die with the berries.
To open the card, first flip up the reindeer focal point:
Then open the plaid panel, too!
Seriously. How adorable is this fun fold? Pretty dang adorable. You can watch me make the card here:
Happy reindeer games!
