Tone on tone is a term that is used when we paper crafters use a layer that is the same color as the layer on which it is mounted. It can also mean stamping a color of ink on the same color of paper. But in this case, doing the Basic White tone on tone layers thing, and it turned out so elegant!
I originally made this card when the Happy Hibsicus Hybrid Embossing Folder became available to demonstrators in an Online Exclusives pre-order in October. I was so happy with it that I used it in a swap to share it with other demonstrators.
I love a good fun fold card, and this one was pretty simple.
It's a little gate-fold with a twist, starting with a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. As I said, I chose white for the whole card, with a touch of silver to add some elegance. I scored the cardstock as shown below, then cut out the long upper corners to make the top half of the card the 4 1/4" width of a "regular" card that could then fold over the top of the gate fold.
For the outter sides of the gate sections, I cut two pieces of Basic White cardstock 1 7/8" x 5 1/4", then embossed those with the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder before adhering them.
The outside of the card started with a piece of 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" Basic White cardstock, backed with the decorative brushed silver layer, which is 3" x 4". Note that I cut the leaf with dies from the Hybrid Embossing Folder right from the center of that silver piece of paper so as to not waste what's covered by the Basic White focal layer.
Using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - both the die and the folder - I made tone on tone flowers for use on the front of the card to layer over the leaves I cut from the silver layer, popping up the largest flower using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you love the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder and the elegant simplicity of this card as much as I do! Find the full list of products I used on the card - along with links to my online store - below.
Happy stamping!
