Yet Another Way to Give a Gift Card

I feel like I'm slightly obsessed with gift card holders. Last Christmas, I shared a week of gift card holders, and although that was months ago, here I go again. This one is a dandy! I shared it during What's Up! Stampers on Wednesday, step by step. You can watch here.

To create the fun gift card holder fun fold card, I used the still-on-sale-for-a-few-more-days Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and paired it with the amazing Country Birdhouse Bundle.

But just look at this amazing card. The blues in the Designer Series Paper are stunning, and this combination of products makes me wonder why I hadn't thought to use them together before!

One of my favorite things about this card is the fun fold. It's a simple tri-fold that actually showcases both sides of the Designer Series Paper - and it rarely happens that we don't have to choose which side to use!

Paper sizes

Night of Navy cardstock (card base):

-7 3/4" x 5 1/2"

I scored this piece 2 1/2" from the left edge and 1" from the right edge.

Basic White cardstock:

-4" x 5 1/4"

Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper (DSP):

After folding the card base on each score line in towards the center (similar to a gate-fold), adhere the following DSP to those flaps.

-2 1/4" x 5 1/4"

-3/4" x 5 1/4"

A third - and different - piece of DSP is needed to create the gift card pocket.

-5 3/4" x 5 1/2", scored at 4"

I notched out a partial 1 3/4" circle from the narrow section of this piece of DSP, then folded that section on the score line and glued the edges to create a pocket for the gift card. I adhered the wider section of the DSP to the inside of the right flap of the card base, which then creates the tri-fold.

After stamping the birdhouse in Night of Navy ink on Boho Blue cardstock, then cutting it out using the coordinating die, I embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. Simply perfect, and no paper piecing or coloring, as I often see the birdhouse. I did add a bird, though...stamped in Nigh of Navy ink and colored using Balmy Blue and Night of Navy Stampin' Blends. Since I had already used the Countryside Inn DSP and the Country Birdhouse bundle, clearly I had to use the Countryside Corners Dies for the sentiment. 😉

For a complete list of supplies I used on this card, check out the bottom of this blog post. And don't forget: 15% off the Countryside Inn DSP (and many others!) through August 31!

Happy gift card giving!

Amy
